WAFP Foundation Students to National Conference Campaign

2024 National Conference Scholarships

The AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students is August 1-3, 2024 in Kansas City, MO. The National Conference is the place for residents and medical students to learn more about family medicine, explore residency programs, and connect with potential employers. Take advantage of this opportunity to shape your career.

The WAFP-Foundation is pleased to announced the limited availability of $800 scholarships to represent Wisconsin family medicine medical students. To be considered for a scholarship, please complete the required online application by April 30.

If you have any questions, please email Madeline or call 262-512-0606.

Applicants for WAFP-F scholarships must also apply for an AAFP-F scholarship. AAFP-F scholarships supersede WAFP-F scholarships, so students can only receive one scholarship to the conference. Students who receive an AAFP-F scholarship will be eligible for a $200 supplemental scholarship from the WAFP-F to ensure all students are given the same opportunities.

Note: You must be a member of AAFP/WAFP to qualify for scholarships, so please make sure you are a member. Student membership is free!

Dedication

The call for dedicated, caring family doctors in Wisconsin is more important now than ever before as there are growing concerns about the future workforce. In an effort to engage and educate medical students about the opportunities in family medicine, the WAFP-Foundation is aiming to send 50 students to the 2024 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students.

Importance

We all know the importance of this project in ensuring a strong future for family medicine in Wisconsin. As an academy, we have a significant influence in determining the success of this campaign. In eleven years of supporting this program, we have provided funding for 436 students to attend the National Conference, and 81% of those students have matched in Family Medicine. That is an incredible return on investment!

Our Mission

But our mission doesn’t end here! If you would like to contribute towards the Foundation's goal, any amount that you wish to donate is appreciated, and we have created several levels of tax-deductible gifting to help the WAFP-Foundation send a student to the national conference.
